Breathe

Your breath is essential. Breathe consciously whenever you are overwhelmed by thoughts or emotions. It will calm you and release the tensions.

If you are worried about something in the future, or caught up in something that happened in the past, breathe. Being aware of your breath will bring you back to the present.

We have been raised and educated with a focus on our thinking mind. Our thinking mind is a very powerful and useful tool. However it can cause us lots of unnecessary stress as well. Let me share a quote by one of the greatest scientists ever, Albert Einstein:

“The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the thinking mind is a faithful servant. However, we have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten about the gift.”

In order to make use of that sacred gift breathe and connect with the feelings in your body. Be aware of your breath and experience that the stream of thoughts running through your head diminishes.

Let them pass by, let the thoughts go. Accept whatever you feel in your body, that’s your truth, your reality. What you resist will persist. Help yourself by accepting it completely.

Find your own way to connect with your breath. This is different for everyone. Some people like to lay down, others like to walk through nature, others like to drive their (motor)bike, others to meditate. Just make sure you are aware of your breath.

Breathe and slow down, enjoy the moment.
